Oh...Under The Heading of "You've Got to Be Kidding..."
When I was in Big Lots today, there was one of those pompous store announcements, this one that the store would be open on Thanksgiving Day (gosh, I'm sure the employees are giving thanks for that!—not!). The speaker continued talking about having a big meal and getting together with relatives and friends and then all going to Big Lots and getting some great bargains, concluding with (I kid you not), "That's what Thanksgiving is all about!" Needless to say, I was a bit...stunned? appalled? incredulous? Yeeesh. Labels: shopping ----------------------------------------------------------------
