Whoa!
Bon spectacle! There were eight torch bearers within the stadium to tie in with the 08-08-08 date, and the last gentleman was hoisted on wires and "ran" around the edge of the stadium, to touch his torch to the end of the pipe that lit the Olympic torch. And then even more fireworks. Woohoo!
The NBC broadcast was dedicated to Jim McKay.
And God, this looked good in widescreen HD! I can hardly wait for the winter Olympics, which are my favorite.
