There's some question about how much of the ship was actually consumed. A lot of the original fabric of the ship had been removed for restoration and the ribs and keel were cast iron. The fire looked spectacular (there's a clip from BBC World on YouTube) but there was a wooden structure built over the hull and that seems to have been the biggest thing burning.
