Blimey!
The television did it again. Since we are heading to Udvar-Hazy today and that's right up the road about four miles, we slept until 8:30. Or we tried to. Promptly at 8 a.m. the television turned on, to TNT like last time. And it was off when we came back to the room at 8:30. Evidently this darn thing has been programmed to come on as an alarm clock. But how? The remote is basic and doesn't have any button to program a timer. ----------------------------------------------------------------

Does the remote have a menu button? On my TV you can set a time to turn the TV on and off in the menu. Hence my occasional references to my TV as the "$500 alarm-clock".
Nope. Basic hotel remote so you can't fool around with the television and change things. There's a mute button, a button to change from television to video so I guess you could hitch up a DVD/VCR to it, a recall button so you can go to the previous channel you are on, and an R-tune button which does nothing. There's no "action" button like our TV at home has to set color or sound or timers. That's what puzzles me. Someone with the main remote must have fiddled with it, so it was one of the staff.
