Obviously as a Canadian "of a certain age" I'm eminently familiar with the shows you named. The Forest Rangers ran for three years and initially was serialised as part of a show called Razzle Dazzle which starred Alan Hamel, who later married Suzanne Somers. One of the adult stars of the show was Gordon Pinsent who many years later would don the red serge again to play the ghost of Benton Fraser's father in Due South. One of the child female leads in The Forest Rangers was Sue Conway who would later appear in Adverntures in Rainbow Country. The adult female lead in that series was Lois Maxwell who is better known for playing Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films, I think until Timothy Dalton took over the role. If you know where and when to look you can still find both shows on Canadian TV - usually the two channels that are fighting for the niche that TVLand occupies in the US.
